The physicians providing and or supervising all patient care at Oakville Vascular are Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified specialists in Vascular Surgery.  In addition they hold additional certification in non-invasive vascular imaging (Vascular ultrasound) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. All services fall entirely within the scope of contemporary vascular surgery practice.

In addition to being the Academic Program Director for Vascular Surgery at McMaster University, Dr. Rapanos sits on the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Specialty Committee for Vascular Surgery. Dr. Rapanos also sits on the Canadian Society of Vascular Surgery National Research Committee. Further, he represents the Division of Vascular Surgery as the acting member on the Research Advisory Committee for the Department of Surgery, McMaster University. Dr. Rapanos is the current Treasurer, Hamilton Academy of Medicine..

It was Dr. Theodore Rapanos’ pleasure to join the division of Vascular Surgery as an assistant professor and practicing surgeon at McMaster University on July 1, 2009. Having completed a BSc (Trinity College), MSc in physiology, followed by a medical degree and general surgery residency at the University of Toronto, Dr. Rapanos was fortunate to obtain opportunities to continue his training in vascular surgery through McMaster University, the Toronto Vascular Institute and Stanford University. Having trained in Canada and U.S. medical systems, with large volumes of open, standard, advance, endovascular and percutaneous procedures, Dr. Rapanos can offer patients specific experience in endovascular aortic surgery, endovenous laser ablation, as well as a unique perspective in the treatment of infra-inguinal disease. Further, Dr. Rapanos is one of only a few vascular surgeons nation-wide to complete certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist, affording him the ability to offer patients complete vascular care.

Dr. Rapanos practices in all aspects of vascular surgery including medical, surgical and endovascular management of arterial and venous disorders. Dr. Rapanos was involved with some of the earliest endovenous laser ablation techniques in North America, expanding his experience through both Canadian and US exposure. He continues to teach the procedure to vascular surgeons and trainees across Canada and the USA. Dr. Rapanos has amassed an extensive experience in endovenous laser ablation offering his patients state-of-the art management.

Dr. Fadi Elias MD, MSc. Epidemiology, FRCSC, RPVI

Dr. Elias is an Assistant Professor for the division of Vascular Surgery at McMaster University in Hamilton. Dr. Elias practices in all aspects of vascular surgery including medical, surgical and endovascular management of arterial and venous disorders.

Dr. Elias completed his MD and Vascular Surgery Residency at McMaster University. He completed his Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2018. In addition, Dr. Elias has completed his Advanced Endovascular and Open Aortic Fellowship in 2018 at Paris University in France.
